Publisher's summary

After an injury forced Theo Wynn to give up professional hockey, he turned to his second love: numbers. Now, as the general manager of his grandfather's NHL team, the Los Angeles Condors, Theo is dying to prove to the rest of his family - especially the brother who betrayed him - that he's just as successful as the rest of them. If only Theo had a gorgeous woman on his arm to complete the picture...

Lacey Olson needs to get out of Las Vegas right now, thanks to her no-good, crooked brother. When a handsome stranger who's out partying with friends comes to her rescue in the cocktail lounge where she works, they strike up a conversation that leads to a crazy plan: her leaving with Theo for L.A. tomorrow. A few drinks later, the idea gets even crazier: a quickie marriage that works for both of them.

But back in California, Lacey immediately turns Theo's precise, well-ordered life into one big beach party. And before long, she's tempting him with her smart mouth, sexy body, and sunny charm. The last thing Theo needs is a real relationship to distract him. Because he only plays to win...

Good but not enough sex!

Kelly’s previous hockey books were way more detailed with sex. This one is a little less. Not much less but less.

Loved the story

Was not thrilled with the over the top male narrator. Spoke too fast for me

Theo and Lacey

A sweet, seductive, charming and entertaining romance. Theo and Lacey are absolutely adorable together. This story warmed my heart. I enjoyed every single second of it.
Alexander Cendese and Kasha Kensington did an outstanding job bring this story to life.

Awkward Narrations

The male sounded like that surfer from the news report that talks about “getting pitted”. I couldn’t get past that.

Narration can build or destroy!

Story is not enjoyable. Male narration of female voice- well, some things should not be done! This book will be left aside in the beginning of chapter 7. Torture of artificial babyvoice is too crippling.

Male voice ruined the book 😖

Kelly Jamieson is one of my favorite authors! She’s fabulous!! I love her work and I eagerly await the release of her books. She writes characters I’d like to be friends with in towns I’d like to visit. Her stories are heart-satisfying. I love her work. You get the picture...I’m a fan.
I’m so disappointed to have to say... I couldn’t get past the first 30 minutes of this book. I’m sure the story (and the series) will be as wonderful as Kelly’s previous works. However, I won’t know unless there is a different male narrator. :(
Alexander Cendese has ruined SEVERAL highly anticipated books for me. I usually do a fast hard-pass when I see his name. I tried this one because I love the author so much. But sadly, I couldn’t stand it. I’m returning this book and another in the series that I foolishly purchased. (Thank you Audible for your incredibly forgiving return policy)

I wish the team responsible for producing these books would find better talent or at least, LISTEN to the performances and direct the performers better. Cendese’s overacting and unbearable character voices ruin so many books. It’s unfair to the authors who work so hard on these books. And it’s unfair to their faithful readers who anticipate the books (and spend their money) to allow substandard performances to ruin EVERYTHING.

I’m so disappointed I won’t be able to enjoy this series. I am unable to read the print editions due to a health issue so I rely upon the narrations as my only option. I listen to more than 5 books weekly. I hope Kelly can get a different narrator going forward. 🤞🏼

Narration terrible

I couldn't finish this. The narration was terrible and the conversation of characters was childish.
