Publisher's summary

A cryptic murder pulls a former soldier turned financial analyst deep into the corruption and menace that prowl beneath the opulent world of finance, in #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci’s new thriller.

Every day without fail, Travis Devine puts on a cheap suit, grabs his faux-leather briefcase, and boards the 6:20 commuter train to Manhattan, where he works as an entry-level analyst at the city’s most prestigious investment firm. In the mornings, he gazes out the train window at the lavish homes of the uberwealthy, dreaming about joining their ranks. In the evenings, he listens to the fiscal news on his phone, already preparing for the next grueling day in the cutthroat realm of finance. Then one morning Devine’s tedious routine is shattered by an anonymous email: She is dead.

Sara Ewes, Devine’s coworker and former girlfriend, has been found hanging in a storage room of his office building—presumably a suicide, at least for now—prompting the NYPD to come calling on him. If that wasn’t enough, before the day is out, Devine receives another ominous visit, a confrontation that threatens to dredge up grim secrets from his past in the army unless he participates in a clandestine investigation into his firm. This treacherous role will take him from the impossibly glittering lives he once saw only through a train window, to the darkest corners of the country’s economic halls of power . . . where something rotten lurks. And apart from this high-stakes conspiracy, there’s a killer out there with their own agenda, and Devine is the bull’s-eye.

Wow... simply, fantastic!!

I am a sculptor/writer and have read-listened to in excess of a thousand of hours of audiobooks (not just on Audible) over the last 6-years while working on various projects. David, is one of my top three writers of all time. The 6:20 Man is perfection in mystery and fiction. The characters come to life and I actually care about them -- loving, hating, admiring. Fantastic plot, kept me guessing all the way until the end, and that's saying something. I literally stopped everything today and listened to the entire 11-hrs and 48-mins straight through - it was that good.

Excellent

Excellent story and very well performed by the narrators. I enjoyed the story and performance very much. Hope that more books are written extending Devine’s storyline.

Baldacci Does Not Disappoint

True to form, the author has filled this book with plot twists and turns that you will never see coming. Well written, with good character development and a fantastic plot. One of the things that I like the most is the fact that three different actors did the performance instead of one individual trying to convincingly do multiple voices of the opposite sex. If you are a mystery fan, you will not be disappointed by this book. Give it a read/listen.

Great New Character for Baldacci

I confess that I am biased to anything that David Baldacci writes. I love so many of his series and characters, and Travis Devine is no different. This is a great introduction to a character that I hope has many more adventures to come. Great storyline, intriguing twists, and several characters that you genuinely become invested in. You won't regret giving this one a read.

Great listen!

This book, like the 6:20 train, began slowly yet picked up speed. I must say I was totally wrong about the killers until the end. Great twists and turns and misdirection. The money laundering part was scarry and is most likely too close to reality for comfort. Great narrations. can't wait for the next book in the series.
