Publisher's summary

He is a good man, a brilliant corporate executive, an honest, handsome family man admired by men and desired by women. But a lifetime ago Ben Tyson was a lieutenant in Vietnam. There the men under his command committed a murderous atrocity -- and together swore never to tell the world what they had done.

Now the press, army justice, and the events he tried to forget have caught up with Ben Tyson. His family, his career, and his personal sense of honor hang in the balance. And only one woman can reveal the truth of his past -- and set him free.

Critic reviews

"The flashbacks to Hue, the pre-trial investigation (involving an attractive female major), the court-martial proceedings, the emotions of the principal characters and the soul-sickness wrought by war (which is the story's effective subtext) all are depicted with marvelous vividness." ( Publishers Weekly)

Great - starts slow but grabs you

Would you consider the audio edition of Word of Honor to be better than the print version?

Hadn't listened to Nelson Demille before - wow - what a treat. Well constructed story, so well constructed that it seems slow at the being but it is necessary detail.

Strongly recommend.

Impressive

What did you love best about Word of Honor?

This book offered an amazing insight into the complexity of right versus wrong.

What about Scott Brick???s performance did you like?

Brick's unique narrating style added to the impact of this story

Any additional comments?

Althouh much of the time was devoted to the courtroom battle, the flashbacks were well placed, and gave the story a rich third dimension. I was sorry the book ended

A great book that gives you a peek into Vietnam

This book gives you a peek into Vietnam service without being the typical War Book. Very enjoyable from an interesting perspective.

Incredible

Non stop spell binding as only Nelson DeMille could write and only as SCOTT Brick could read!!! Phew! I literally cried with relief at the end. I was completely swept up in the story as though I was living it. I myself never went to Nam. But I could feel the reality of it like never before. Thank you for such a real experience.

Excellent overall

What an experience- from the character development, details of the military court martial process and procedures, to the narration - all an A+ rating.
