Publisher's summary

Enigma: a person or thing that is mysterious or difficult to understand.

Isaac Holt is the very definition of an enigma. He is mysterious, dangerous, alluring and knee clankingly gorgeous. After a chance meeting, I was falling at his feet, literally. His magnetizing allure has the ability to electrify all of my senses with the simple touch of his fingertip.

But no matter how much my body craves Isaac's touch, I can't have him. Morally and ethically, he is off limits. He is the enemy. My rational thinking head logically understands this, but my lust-driven heart needs a little more convincing.

A story about two people who are destined NOT to be together. This is not your typical love story.

Not everything is black and white. There is a whole heap of gray that no one pays any attention to.

Contains mature themes.

Solid plot line with lots of fire!

This first book has me sucked into Isabell and Issac’s story completely. There’s a great mix of chemistry and danger with these characters. These two run HOT for each other. Isaac is bossy and withdrawn yet can’t keep away from Issy. Isabel is determined and I think there’s a lot more to her story than we are given.

Even though it’s inevitably headed for a crash and burn you can’t help but want to know how mad Isaac will be. There’s no way that it can end well for them but Shandi keeps you hooked on what’s to come! Enigma of Life is sexy and sinful, the good girl playing with fire. Instantly moved on to the next book after a cliffhanger that you may see coming but want to see where it goes.

Monique Makena did great with the narration! Keeping you involved in the story and able to fully voice all the characters.

ridiculous more like a 3.5

I had a hard time finishing this book only because . Isabella is a FBI agent who cries alot and always seems to have a ridiculous amount of clinching WAP every time Isaac is in the same room or she thinks about him . this is a 4 book story hoping it gets better

Horrible Narration

The story is absolutely mind blowing amazing and is an absolute must READ series. however I don’t recommend listening to the story as the narrators instead of reading the male and female parts together read them based on whose POV the chapter is.which really kills the feeling of the book.

wow

wow, just wow...the characters jump off the page and draw you in. I hope the next 3 books are as good. an improvement I would suggest and it's just personal preference, is a dual narrators.

I had high hopes but…

… unfortunately, it was a let down. I enjoyed the relationship developement between Isabelle and Harlow and became a bit more interested toward the end of the book but I was close to giving up completely during the first few chapters. I am invested enough that I’ll move in to the sequel but I don’t have grand expectations.

loved it

I loved the story and the narrator did an amazing job. the only thing I hated was the saying ' my inner vixen' over a dozen times.

Not worth 4 books, absolutely illogical

The idea of the story might be good, but nothing makes sense. The MFC is an absolute mess, she is the farthest thing from and FBI agent ever conjured. She can’t think, unable to put 2 and 2 together to save her life, she has a personal relationship with the person the FBI is investigating and she still thinks she’s done nothing wrong, ?!?WTF?!? ..FBI never sees them together. Sometimes, in her head only, she says she is “strong and independent”, but she never stands up for herself, has the attitude of a teenager and a mat , Their surveillance and common sense is non existent, she cries, cringes and throwsup for every little thing that happens, she is unable to maintain a train of thought. “Her inner vixen” (that she repeated incessantly,) is the only one thinking in the head of the most empty, stupid person. I kept forwarding to get to the gist of the story. At the end no good story could make up for this incredible stupid person that most things that happen don’t really have any consequences and important matters are never really addressed… it’s just a whole mess. The more I heard the angrier and more frustrated I got for wasting my listening time on this, …but I just couldn’t believe this was so bad. I thought that eventually it could get better. The main Male C is a bit more logical but still… and that she forgives him so easily at the end is stupid. The sex scenes are just WAY TOO MANY… it’s constant, the story can never move on because the “inner vixen”(for the millionth time mentioned,) is the only thing taking up space in her brain. The real story is told in one book, the rest is sex scenes that after so many they just get boring and skipping forward is imminent .
