Publisher's summary
Sometimes in life you have to suck it up to get ahead....
I'm lying in bed one night, staring up at the ceiling, unable to sleep from anxiety. In a few hours, I'll be starting my new job at a successful company, and I'm concerned that my first day there could either make or break me. Soon, however, I find myself drifting off to sleep, and when I do, I have quite the Freudian nightmare. For whatever reason, I have the strangest dream of becoming intimate with my new boss, Mr. Jones, right in the middle of my new office, and I wake up screaming and soaked with sweat. And other fluids....
Little do I know, however, the very same dream is about to come true, or at least approximately so...because, as it turns out, Mr. Jones has a little bit more pushing for me to do than with just pencils....
Warning: This book contains lots of hot sex, drama, and adult language.
A standalone gay romance with a happy ending.

Story
The modern audience hasn't had a chance to truly appreciate the unknowing dread that readers would have felt when reading Bram Stoker's original 1897 manuscript. Most modern productions employ campiness or sound effects to try to bring back that gothic tension, but we've tried something different. By returning to Stoker's original storytelling structure - a series of letters and journal entries voiced by Jonathan Harker, Dr. Van Helsing, and other characters - with an all-star cast of narrators, we've sought to recapture its originally intended horror and power.

Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

Good story
Good story line if you like gay storyline. Not really my kind of story. I think it would be better with a different narrator

3.5 Shooting Star’s
This was a first for me with this author. Sadly not a first for me for the narrator, I don’t know what it is I don’t really like about this narrator but she didn't take from the story so that’s good right. :)
Getting a new job is stressful, so much so that he started having very erotic dreams and feelings for his new boss. He was wearing his girlfriend out not that she was complaining. But as the start date came closer his appetite kicked in to overdrive and was even starting to have very erotic and dirty dreams about what his first day would entail.
I enjoyed this fast listen, its hot, hot, hot. I would listen to more from this author.

The perfect sexy short story!
Would you consider the audio edition of Gay Romance: Secret Romance with My Boss, the Alpha Lover to be better than the print version?
Gay Romance is a novella about a cool heterosexual dude with a new job offer who starts having dreams about his gorgeous male boss. Voila! The dreams are vivid AND dream become reality with hot sex!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Loved the main character. Would probably love the boss in real life`
What about Veronica Heart’s performance did you like?
Ms. Heart was perfect! Great voices, great suspenseful spoeaking
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved this book. It was a complete book to me--story plot, suspense, humor, and action!
Any additional comments?

R P James back in fine form
Who was your favorite character and why?
The main character - we never get to know what his name is, but his description of Mr. Jones, his boss and what he is going through during the interview process and then as a brand new employee are hilarious!
Which scene was your favorite?
Definitely, the dream scene - don't we all dream of accidentally showing up at our office naked? ;-)
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
LOL all over the place :-)
Any additional comments?
Very entertaining story!

This short story is not what I expected
What would have made Gay Romance: Secret Romance with My Boss, the Alpha Lover better?
I'm not sure..
What do you think your next listen will be?
NA
How could the performance have been better?
The narrator could have read slower.
I could keep up with her but it was distracting.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Gay Romance: Secret Romance with My Boss, the Alpha Lover?
NA
Any additional comments?
This short story is not what I expected, it reads more like a grocery list or an adolescent's
diary rather than an erotic tale. I'm sorry but I had to be honest about this review.
I also had an issue with the narrator.
It seems as though she read the story as fast as she could, almost sounding robotic,
especially when she said: "one new email"_chapter 3.
Actually, she sounded like that new Alexa app by Amazon =)
I would be willing to read another story by this author because this one did not work for me.

Worst choice of narrator ever!
Let's face it, nobody's expecting literature when they get this type of book. It is gay male erotica. I am absolutely baffled why they would choose a robotic female voice to narrate a male sexual encounter told in the first person. I found it impossible to enjoy.

Well...
I can honestly say that the narration was so incredibly... distracting for me, it was hard to judge the story. Nothing against Ms Heart, but I really feel as though a male should have narrated this book since it was told through MC POV and he is a male. This was so distracting that I was unable to finish the book and unable to accurately gauge the storyline.

First time experience with this author or narrator
The narration was so poor on this book there is no way that I could even give a review for the content. Her words were choppy her voice was clipped. I honestly felt there was no way that I could not focus on this book, but I was wrong. I received this book at no cost to me from the author publisher or narrator for a honest review.
