Publisher's summary

Whips and chains - not optional.

Sid.

Drummer for The Underdogs. Secretly yearning for pain and submission.

Asher. aka. Stan.

Stalker. More than meets the eye. It’s hard to find good hookups while on tour.

Sid wants pain, humiliation, and the kind of sex that isn’t easy to get from one-night stands. So, for now, he’s given up, settled for an online Dom to get his rocks off, and focused on his band instead. The Underdogs are getting increasingly popular, but there is one fan who has followed Sid since before he even joined the band, and he’s driving Sid mad! Rich, spoiled hipster brat looking for the bad-boy experience. If he knew what Sid was really into, he would run for the hills.

Asher is convinced that Sid is the One - his one true love - his endgame. Years ago, Asher lost his virginity to Sid, and from that moment on, he knew it was meant to be. They had a spark, that honest connection that couldn’t be faked. The members of Sid’s band call him a stalker, but all he wants is to offer Sid his love. When Sid finally chokes out what he wants, Asher is more than ready to unleash it on him. But, the last time Sid was out as gay and submissive, he got badly burnt when his former band kicked him out, and the doors to many opportunities slammed in his face. Asher wants the whole world to know that he’s dating Sid. Problem is, Sid would much rather keep the relationship as pain-with-benefits.

Themes: rock band, alternative lifestyles, tattoos, BDSM, commitment, family issues, coming out, life on tour, friends with benefits become something more, first love, stalking, fanboy

Stalker BDSM

Just here for the pain is an intense BDSM story and puts a spin on being a stalker. There are some long BDSM scenes and might not be for everyone. There are also good character development. The audiobook has good narration, but probably not listening out in public.

Sid needs pain and to be dominated, when he tries to scare Asher off by telling him, Asher goes and buys things and gets lessons to show him the proper way to discipline Sid with what he needs, 1 night leads to more and a relationship is formed. Interesting story

Watching Sid and Asher’s relationship go from unwanted stalker to exactly what did needed was fun and entertaining and learning about both their backstory’s makes it easier to understand the things holding both of them back and the communication problems that came from it making it all the better when they find they’re way fully to each other

Just alright

I enjoyed Asher so much. He was my favorite in the book. He’s willing to do anything for Sid. I think Sid was a little harsh in the beginning, I felt so bad for Asher. I loved their pairing, it was so worth it when they broke down each other’s walls.

Sid is a very private person, which becomes a huge problem for our couple. It always made me so upset for Asher when Sid was so demanding but wouldn’t let Asher have anything.

I enjoy K.A. Merikan’s books and this one is no different.

The narrator was just alright to me. I had to speed it up to get into the groove. This was my first listen by Tyler Kent. I would listen to him again, i just need to speed him up a little bit.

Great 2nd Book In Series

I enjoyed listening to Sid and Archer's story and learning how their relationship started. It was nice to see the dominant in a BDSM relationship learn the ins and out of the lifestyle. It's well written, steamy, snarky and emotional. I also loved the realness that made it believable. The narration by Tyler Kent was also very good.

I went in for the kink but totally stayed for the romance

With a title like that I knew to expect BDSM, in fact despite this being my first K.A Merikan read, I’ve sort of associated the author with kinky, BDSM stories.

However what I didn’t expect was to be far more interested in the plot than the scenes, as in BDSM scenes. It’s not just me not totally being into that level of BDSM play, because I’ve read a few stories depicting acts that I probably wouldn’t try, yet those stories still totally enthralled me into them. In this case I was game but not feeling it almost going through the motions at times. Yet I’d bet that to the right reader these BDSM scenes might be the hottest thing ever.

What grabbed my attention was the story between Asher and Sid. Their history is so weird and complicated that it grabbed me throughout. Their character growth were really good. The author didn’t shy away from the resentment stemming from their shared history, and managed not to saturate the story with angst and too much lack of communication drama.

I went in for the kink but totally stayed for the romance. The portrayal of BDSM is good, even great if you’re into it, but the romance is just as captivating.

kinky rockstar romance

The romance in this one went deeper than I'd expected. Both characters had some issues to work through for their HEA. Fun characters, hot sex scenes, good narration.

So good

The storyline is new and different for me and I enjoyed it immensely. The narration was fantastic and did the author proud in my opinion! I was glad to revisit all the characters of the band!

MM BDSM Rockstar Romance

I was excited to read this after meeting both characters in the first book of the series, and they were great. I wish there was a bit more character development on both sides, but it was still good. This was probably the most intense BDSM book I have read, and IMO it was done very well. I enjoyed learning about the different ways Sid enjoyed pain and how Asher was eager to learn everything to make that part work, and to find out he enjoyed it just as much. There was the little hiccup with a tiny breakup and while I do believe it was necessary, it just did not really make sense how it happened and then the reconciliation was a bit too quick for me. I wanted a bit more opening up and really digging deep into each other insecurities; however, it was super tidy. I did enjoy both Asher and Sid and would recommend their story to others.

eAudio ARC provided and this is my honest review.
