Publisher's summary

Joe Bagshaw doesn’t believe in love or marriage anymore, which is rather a hindrance for a wedding planner.

His own marriage was a whirlwind affair that ended before the ink could dry on the wedding certificate. Nevertheless, even with his divorce pending, he’s getting by. Or at least he was until he finds himself snowed in at a remote Scottish hotel with the wedding party from hell, a terrible ABBA tribute band, and his soon-to-be ex-husband.

Lachlan has missed Joe from the second his husband walked away. He wants Joe back and is prepared to do anything to get him. Being snowed in together seems to offer the chance Lachlan needs, but does he have what it takes to get Joe to trust in love and their marriage again?

From best-selling author Lily Morton comes a romantic comedy about love, matrimony, and the best of second chances.

This is the first book in the Confetti Hitched series.

So much laughter and love

Oh! My! Gosh, y’all!! This story was so entertaining. I laughed so much listening to this audio 😁

Joe is a wedding planner and Lachlan is an accountant. They are so different but so attracted to each other. They continue to meet at a ton of different weddings. And one drunken night in Vegas leads to their own wedding. Joe is very happy about giving it a go but Lachlan seems more standoffish and pushes Joe away. Divorce is emanate and Lachlan realizes while they need to get to know each other better, he is in love with his husband and wants him back.

There are so many real life elements in this story that I think it makes it that much more. People do tend to jump first and look later. Marriage is work and about compromise. Second chances are not guaranteed so when they come don’t squander it.

I have had this story on my tbr and I am very thankful for the opportunity to listen to the audio and share my thoughts with y’all.

Joel Leslie is a true artist. He is able to make each character different and give the reader the feeling of being there.

Joe & Lachlan

Joe and Lachlan’s story is a second chance love story that happens in both the past and present. Narrated by Joel Leslie who does a wonderful job spinning the tale of their meeting, hookups and quickie wedding in Vegas. Cue the misunderstandings and miscommunication as they move in and begin their life together. Joe decides to throw in the proverbial towel and finds himself in a forced proximity situation down the road with Lachlan. What ensues are some uncomfortable situations and tough choices on where they go from here. This is a good second chance romance with forced proximity tossed in, all told with a wonderful narrator who kept me engaged throughout.

Lilly Morton never fails to deliver.

This has all the feels, the love and hope, and angst, that Lilly Morton is known for. I really appreciate that Confetti Hearts has minimal detailed. sex on the page, but still brings all the heat and intensity that makes the characters feel real.
As always, Joel Leslie adds his special voice acting skills to make this beautiful story complete.
One should always have a chance to savor a last sigh of contentment, like this.

A story of second chances. Just lovely.

4.25 stars

Lily Morton has SUCH a way with romance! I am a major sucker for second chance romance, especially when the participants are/were married, so this called to me.

Joe and Lachlan had a steamy, hot and heavy start to a whirlwind romance, so when it ends with a bang, Joe attempts to just go back to life as normal… but he is purely heartbroken.

When his job as a wedding planner brings him to wedding where Lachlan is in attendance, Joe panics… while Lachlan tries to win him back. With a bit of luck, good or bad depending on who you ask, a snowstorm comes in, making it practically impossible for either of them to leave.

This was such a tender novel about the power of love, the caution of miscommunication and the beauty of second chances.

This audiobook was expertly narrated by Joel Leslie, who NEVER fails to give his all! This was sweet and funny and I adored it!

This book!!

So much laughter. So many tears and tissues. This story will move you like only Lily Morton can do. This story has two parts: the past and the present. One is telling to story of Joe and Lachlan’s meeting and marriage while the second is telling of Lachlan trying to win him back. This is sooooo good and Joel Leslie does his customary amazing job bringing these two men to life. This is honestly one of the author’s best books in my opinion.

Joel Leslie was pristine!

I listened to this book already knowing I adore Lily Morton as an author and Joel Leslie as a narrator.
Joel did an amazing job! He is one of the only narrators I listen to that, I feel, paces the book well. I never feel the urge to bump the speed up because of lengthy pauses or slow speaking. He did Joe & Lachlan wonderfully.
That being said, I did not adore the story. I’m not a huge fan of second chance romances. But since it is Lily Morton I was all in. I loved the banter and wit. I hated the reasoning for the split. It really seemed unrealistic, seemed like a lot of time passed while Joe was observing, definitely enough time for Lachlan to get away. I really liked Joe as a character though and wanted to see his happy ending.

I was provided this book by GRR. This is my unbiased review.

Second Chance to get it Right

Our two MC’s are Joe and Lachlan. They met at a wedding that Joe was the planner for. They eventually married and at present are separated and trying to divorce. Apparently they got married without really knowing each other and now Joe just wants Lachlan to sign the papers.
On a wedding trip to Scotland, Joe finds out that Lachlan has signed the papers. What happens next is pure comedic joy. Lachlan shows up as a guest and guess what, a freak snowstorm snows everyone in at the hotel. Oh did I mention that all the rooms are full and Joe has to stay with Lachlan in his room.
This book kept me laughing from the very beginning. The author did a marvelous job of alternating between the past and the present. The absolute humor and laughter was perfect. Joel did an incredible job bringing both characters to life and his timing was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better narrator.

Joel Leslie makes every book better

Joel Leslie's performance of books always seems to make books so much better than when reading them. He shed a different light on Lachlan and I didn't dislike him nearly as much when listening instead of reading. I did still dislike how he treated Joe during their marriage intially and it felt like Joe was taking more of the blame than he should have for the failure.

However, Joel's performance couldn't make Janice any more likeable...and honestly I think I hated her more listening to her. It is a testament to his talent that the amount of time dedicated to the wedding and wedding party in Scotland didn't seem to bother me as much when listening instead of reading.

I recommend listening over reading any day!

Including original review from reading the ebook.

I loved Joe when we met him in Vow Maker, so I was very excited to see him get a book. Some of this book was fantastic and some of it wasn’t. I HATE a lack of communication between main characters, especially when that is the cause of the major angst and the really detailed story of other people getting married completely put me off.

I know Joe is a wedding planner, but the details about Erica and Ryan’s wedding went on too much and took away from Joe and Lachlan’s story. I started to skim when we were getting details about their nuptials.

They have a definite meet cute and as much as I liked Lachlan when we meet him and how much he likes Joe, he pissed me off with the way he treated Joe when they get married. I was also frustrated that all the angst happened off-page and we just get pulled in after the fact. And the why was a bit contradictory…he was scared that Joe was pulling away, so he thought a shotgun wedding was the answer but when he had him as a husband he kept him at arm’s length because of how he felt?

When the two of them are together at the few weddings at the beginning they were great together – hot sexual chemistry, great banter, and they seemed to hit it off emotionally, even though Lachlan denied it. Then we skipped to the angst and the boring wedding…but after that when they are snowed in at the hotel in Scotland, they’re back to being great together. And then all is well.

I would have liked a little more between them working well as husbands but I guess we’re OK for now. It looks like this is the start of a series and I’m assuming Jeb/Arthur and then Rafferty will get books which I’m down for…as long as we don’t have a lot of lack of or miscommunication and long wedding details.
