Artell Smith has had a distinguished career in business and human resources, holding key leadership roles in various organizations. His expertise spans many HR functions, including senior executive support, talent management, operations, employee engagement, technology integration, and recruitment strategies. Artell has led significant projects globally, demonstrating his proficiency in HR. In addition to his corporate roles, Artell is a consultant and educator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Wisconsin School of Business, Center for Professional & Executive Development, and Principal and Managing Director of WatchWorks Management Consulting LLC. His literary contributions include two leadership books, “No Time to Waste – Microbehaviors: Leveraging the Little Things to Become a Better Leader” and “Engage.Coach.Develop – Building Strong Relationships That Drive Individual and Team Performance.” He has also ventured into fiction, co-authoring “Taj’s Sabbatical: Book One, Sol System Enforcer Chronicles” with his son Troy Smith and writing “A Death at Christmas and Other Wondrous Events.” Artell's latest book, "Champions Needed: Unlocking the Potential of Family Advocacy in Assisted Living and Memory Care," co-authored with Carol J. Purdy Miller, provides a guide for families navigating long-term care. It offers a blueprint for active participation in decisions, from selecting the right care community to managing finances and ensuring healthcare services. This book equips readers to become strong advocates for their senior loved ones, covering the details of assisted living and senior care. Artell most recently was Vice President of Human Resources – Talent, HR Shared Services, and Technology at Quad, a digital media and printing company with over 15,000 global employees. He also served as the executive director of strategic programs at BlueSoHo, a division of Quad. His previous executive positions include serving as the HR Senior Vice-President for Strategy, Technology & Operations at Aon plc, and as CHRO at Aon Hewitt. His earlier career includes roles as HR Vice President, Business Process Outsourcing at Hewitt Associates, Vice President of Training & Communications at Fidelity Investments, and Senior HR Benefits Specialist at ExxonMobil. Artell’s academic credentials include a Master of Public Administration degree and a Bachelor of Arts in history and political science, both from Brigham Young University.
