Becky is a poet, essayist and short story writer. She is the co-author of Writing in Community: Say Goodbye to Writer's Block and Transform Your Life, winner of an IPPY Award, the first book of two in a series called The Essential Writing and Creativity Series. She also co-authored The Fire Inside, an inspirational book on creativity. Becky and her writing partner received the 2020 Mayor's Art Award in Literature in Lincoln, Nebraska. She co-wrote and facilitated "Women at the Springs," a Nebraska Humanities program empowering women to act and live more courageously, as well as the "Intergenerational Project" connecting Elders and teens through stories to promote communication, writing and the use of media. Becky has an Ed.D. in Education, and in addition to teaching at the university level, has been a principal at an alternative high school. She loves writing about the joys and challenges of the human condition and the magnificence of nature.
