Born Beverley Dennis on January 21, 1955, in Ohio, her family moved to NW Pennsylvania when she was only two. She jokingly says, "I was born in January and never got warm until I moved to Arizona at the age of 44." She attended Miami University of Ohio at the ripe old age of 39 and enjoyed getting back to academia and nourishing the "love affair with words" that began in the sixth grade. Graduating Summa cum Laude in 1999, she promptly fled the cold Midwest winters and settled in Sedona, Arizona, where she lived for the next 13 years, encouraged by co-workers to "keep writing." Over 220 published articles later, Beverley has moved from writing non-fiction pieces to the type of writing she loves to read: action-adventure-horror. An avid scuba diver in a former life, many of her action-adventure books contain diving mishaps that morph into something more. Heavily influenced by some of her favorite writers, Stephen King, Steve Alten (author of "Jaws" and other delightfully scary shark stories), Michael Crichton, and Russ Tilton, she enjoys incorporating underwater action and 'creature feature' elements into her tales. "STRANDED" was her first foray into fiction with its prequel, "Savage Isle" coming later after readers begged for more of the orangutan characters Rusty, BigBoy, and Frank. Both books remain her top sellers. In addition to the novels, she has co-authored two movie scripts. The first film, "The Problem with Men", has been distributed worldwide and can be viewed on Tubi TV. The second, "Once Upon a Time in Ecuador", is in post-production, scheduled to be released later this year. Beverley's favorite parts of speech are adjectives and verbs, and she uses them like artists use pigments and brushes, painting a picture the reader can clearly see. All of her books are available in ebook, paperback, and large print formats with "Savage Isle" also in audio form. Now retired, she currently resides in Cotacachi, Ecuador, a small town in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. In her spare time, she enjoys strolling through her bloom-filled garden, reading, lunching with friends, learning to speak Spanish, and playing or snuggling with her beloved kitty Jazz. A little-known fact: she has a Venus Fly Trap named Charlie.
