Brian Lisus began his journey as a violin maker in the fall of 1976 at the Newark School of Violin Making, in England. After graduating, rather than being absorbed into the world of string repairs and restoration Brian chose instead to dedicate his life to the crafting of new instruments, using original designs yet staying true the traditional way of making them by hand. His clientele includes leading soloists, chamber music enthusiasts, young students embarking on a career in music and several amateurs to whom violins and music is the joy of their otherwise busy professional lives. These musicians are located all around the world. They are loving owners of Lisus instruments and many have become good friends. Brian’s love and passion for his craft has grown and developed over the years and he continues to make instruments for musicians in his Ojai, California workshop. He also welcomes hobbyists into his workshop on a part time basis, where they learn to make their own violins under his direction. Photo’s, music clips and videos are viewable on Brian’s web site at www.lisusviolins.com
