Bruce J. Hillman, MD, is Professor of Radiology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. In addition to publishing a number of short stories in such journals as The Connecticut Review, Compass Rose, and Aethlon, the Journal of Sports Literature, he has published 3 works of non-fiction: A PLAGUE ON ALL OUR HOUSES (ForeEdge Press, 2016) tells the story of Dr. Michael Gottlieb's discovery of AIDS as a new and devastating disease. He previously published THE MAN WHO STALKED EINSTEIN (Lyons Press) and THE SORCERER'S APPRENTICE, a book intended to educate the lay public about how medical images are generated, paid for, and interpreted. Dr. Hillman has served as Editor-in-Chief of three medical journals, including his current position with the Journal of the American College of Radiology. He was Deputy Editor of the online literary and humanities journal, Hospital Drive. Raised in Miami Beach, Dr. Hillman received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, his medical degree from the University of Rochester, and trained in radiology at Boston’s Peter Bent Brigham Hospital. He telecommutes to his work at UVA from his study in Wake Forest, North Carolina, where he lives, fly fishes, and writes.
