My professional life has been spent running into burning buildings. Big messy challenges always made me want to wade in and see how tangled parts might be reimagined in some bold and original way. I was an Innovation Choreographer (although for many years I didn’t know that), someone who naturally sees the big picture and then reassembles the Lego’s of the world to make things work in different ways. It’s a great job, but I often felt like a creative misfit, the only one in the room who wanted to enthusiastically disrupt the status quo. Yet in my gut, I knew that being a generalist, rebel, disruptive storyteller just had to be valuable when taking on hard challenges. And so, I’m truly excited to have collaborated with Jenny Wilde on bringing together an end to end narrative of ecosystem innovation. After spending years futilely trying to explain what Choreographers do, it’s energizing to have a compelling way to talk about how we embrace complex problems and do bigger things.
