Derek Wallis is the former Chief Operating Officer at 33 Capital Management. Derek started his career at Soros in various roles, mostly within equities. During his tenure, he traded and advised on risk management for George Soros and 45+ portfolio managers across industries and market cycles. In 2013, Derek co-founded Marlowe Partners alongside executives from Soros and Appaloosa. Born and raised in New Zealand, Derek received a B.A. and a Master's from Auckland University. He also founded an annual fundraiser for veteran causes at the Intrepid Museum. He lives in NYC with his two children and golden retrievers.
