Donna Lyon, PhD, is a film producer and senior lecturer in producing at The University of Melbourne, Faculty of Fine Arts and Music, Film and Television School. Her PhD focused on a practice led digital archive project, aimed at digitising, preserving and disseminating the audiovisual collection belonging to Australia's longest continuing film school. She produced the independent feature film, 'Disclosure', released in 2020 (Palm Springs International Film Festival, Adelaide Film Festival, Cinefest Oz. North American Distribution: Breaking Glass Pictures | Australian, New Zealand Distribution: Bonsai Films). Donna has over 15 years experience in filmmaking and the arts, having produced over 10 short films, many that have toured the film festival circuit around the globe. She is the founder of Left/Write//Hook a multidisciplinary creative arts workshop, that combines writing and boxing for survivors of child sexual abuse and trauma. The workshop is currently being produced as a research project, along with a documentary. The program is currently in development for a widespread national rollout from 2021. Left/ Write//Hook: Survivor Stories from a Boxing and Creative Writing Project is Donna's first book as editor.
