Eileen Forrestal is a retired Medical Doctor and Co-founder of Get Up and Go Publications Ltd. In her new role as CVO (Chief Visionary Officer) at Shine Your Light Coaching and Consulting, Eileen now emerges from the shadows as author of the Courage To Shine - Find Your Voice and Discover the Healing Power of Your Words. Having spent years in the background, both in her medical career (as an Anaesthesiologist) and growing her business, with the release of her memoir, Eileen is now coming out into the spotlight. She shares a message of the power of words as access to healing personal suffering, through powerful, courageous and authentic conversations. Having suffered with a stutter for most of her young life, Eileen was "Determined to hide my own voice, reluctant to speak up for fear of being embarrassed, mocked, or pitied as a ‘stammerer’". Her speech impediment was the result of an accidental Aspirin overdose, necessitating a stomach washout, aged three and a half, "I suffered the pain of self imposed silence and a feeling of invisibility". After a long a career where she put others to sleep (the irony is not lost on her!) she is now at work ‘waking people up’ to the potential, responsibility and joy of their own self-expression, trusting the power of words to heal the past and build new relationships, positively impacting their happiness and personal wellbeing". She encourages everyone to 'Align with your Shine'. It takes courage to step out from the comfort of the shadows and Shine Your Own Light. As author, speaker, coach and mentor, Eileen now uses her voice, her words, her unique story, her insight, her wisdom and her experience to encourage others to confidently shine in their own light to fulfil on their unique positive contribution in the world.
