Evelyn Allendes, originally from Puerto Rico, now lives in Tampa, Florida. She stays close to her first home with a small condo on Isleta Marina (a small island off the east coast of Puerto Rico), where the story takes place. She has three wonderful kids, Evy, Lauren, and Daniel, and three furry family members. Her two cats, Oliver and Kahlua, and her wonderful dog, Bear, the main character and inspiration behind this book series. While new to writing, Evelyn has always loved it and finds it a wonderful way to express herself and her ideas. Turning Bear’s adventures on Isleta Marina into a book series has been a passion of Evelyn’s for some time. Evelyn sees her writing as a way to share with others the beauty of Puerto Rico and the love she has for her dog, Bear. Most importantly, she wants to help families create those special moments by sharing storytime together. Evelyn hopes you enjoy reading this book as much as she has enjoyed writing it and that you’ll continue to follow Bear’s adventures in this ever-growing series.
