As an expert in political and social trends, Khoury was the first journalist to report on the revolution while still in Syria. In addition to his journalism, Khoury is adept in social media and shares his knowledge with fellow journalists in the Arab world. He served as a Senior Advisor to Strategy XXI Partners in New York in 2016 and founded the Center for Environmental and Social Development in 2017. This nonpartisan international human rights organization, based in New York, reflects Khoury's commitment to creating positive global change. Khoury's expertise also extends to academia, where he is a fellow expert at the Czech-Slovak Institute of Oriental Studies.
