In 1997, I authored this story when I was nearly 10 years old for my school’s Young Author’s Faire. I recall feeling a profound sense of pride in my achievement. Many special thanks to my mother for her editing support. Over the years, I held onto this piece of my childhood primarily as a cherished memento. Fast forward to 2019 when I became a parent myself, and the inspiration dawned on me to bring this story to life. I was committed to preserving its authentic childlike essence, thus necessitating only minimal editing. This endeavor is dedicated to my beloved Violet Aurora and to all the young readers out there who share a passion for books. About the Author in 1997: Jaime Francois lives in San Jose, California with her Dad, Mom, little brother, Torrey, and her dog, Tatum. She’s 9-and-a-half, almost 10 years old. Jaime loves to collect “Real Ghost Stories” books and she likes to play sports like soccer, baseball, and basketball. Her favorite games to play with her friends are hopscotch, “Loudmouth”, and rollerblading. Jaime likes to go to school, and her favorite subjects are art and spelling.
