James Kirkland was born in the mud and rain of Portland, Oregon where he managed to scrape his way onto his high school basketball team. He was so good he got into Emerson College where he chose to not play sports but instead write poetry. Afterwards he worked as a comedian and improviser at the legendary Boom Chicago theater in Amsterdam. He now lives in Los Angeles where he works as a novelist and actor. He still plays basketball and is a proud Burbank Adult Men’s Rec League championship winner (Brown Division). His first book, Friend of the Devil, is published by Meathouse Publishing and available on Amazon. Follow him and the Bill Walton Mysteries on Twitter: @jamiekirkland @Billmysteries
