Joanne Posner Waldorf was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She remained there as she completed her educational journey where she achieved a bachelor’s degree in education from Emory University. Married just one week later to her life-long partner and loving husband Richard, she often joked that her real degree at the university was achieving her goal of becoming a MRS. She taught fifth grade in Fayetteville, North Carolina, while her husband completed his military service requirements exiting as a captain from The United States Air Force. They have three sons—Michael, David, and Scott and four grandchildren. Joanne spent much of her adulthood dedicated to non-profit service organizations. When financial changes caused her reentrance into the world of work, Joanne went back to teaching, relying upon her former education. Life experiences taught her the value of preparing for one’s retirement years. She then pursued a twenty-five- year career of being a retirement planning insurance professional. She has helped over two thousand educational employees to achieve their own successful retirements. There Was Only One Rubye . . . is her first effort at writing and completing a published work.
