Josie was born, as Margaret Robertson, on 24/06/1951 into social housing on a post-war ‘pre-fabricated’ estate in rural Essex. She chose to use a pen name, inspired by her love of dogs. Josie was always a little lost. At school she excelled, but did not make friends. She immersed herself in books, setting challenges. She read 100 pages of War and Peace by Tolstoy a day. Some chapters were challenging, containing endless pages of data, so she read it again. Josie is always on the periphery, listening and observing. Her mother lived to 100 and Josie’s first book is about her. She is currently working on her second book - working title ‘Chemo Run-off’; the story of a lonely little girl whose search for fulfilment is endless. Josie has experienced life-changing illnesses, including breast cancer, Polymyalgia Rheumatica and chronic neuropathy and knows that each day counts. She intends to write copiously, to fulfil one aspect of her life, and delight her readers.
