Karen Rostoker-Gruber's first picture book, "Rooster Can't Cock-a-Doodle-Doo," was published in July 2004 by Dial Books for Young Readers. Her first novelty book, "Food Fright," was published in October 2003 by Price Stern Sloan. "Bandit," "Bandit's Surprise," Tea Time," "Ferret Fun," and "Ferret Fun in the Sun." were all published by Marshall Cavendish. "Farmer Kobi's Hanukkah Match," was published by Apples and Honey Press in 2015. "Maddie the Mitzvah Clow" and "The Family and Frog Haggadah" are both due out in 2017. Two new books: "Happy Birthday to the Trees," will be published by KarBen, and "No Extra Space," published by Albert Whitman, are both due out in Fall 2020. Karen is also a published humorist. Her first humor book, "The Unofficial College Survival Guide," was published in 1992 by Great Quotations. Her second book, "Remote Controls Are Better Than Women Because. . . ," was published by Longstreet Press in 1993, and her third book, "Telephones Are Better Than Men Because. . . ," also published by Longstreet Press, came out in 1996. Her fourth humor book, "If Men Had Babies. . .," was published by CCC Publications, LLC in 2001. Karen is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators and was a co-chair for the Rutgers University Council on Children's Literature's One-on-One Conference. She was a guest on the Ricki Lake Show and has been promoting her books on over 62 radio shows around the country. Two of her books ("Bandit" and "Bandit's Surprise") were on Celebrity Apprentice! In Karen's spare time, she is also a ventriloquist and visits schools and public libraries with her life-sized puppet named Maria.
