Kevin Holt was born in Baar, Switzerland in 1982. He lived in the United States through completion of the quintessential American rite of passage of indebting oneself enormously to acquire a university diploma. He then departed for East Asia, spending several years learning Japanese and Mandarin while working variously as an English teacher, editor, translator, and fake priest in the Japanese countryside of Shimane prefecture (2005-2007) and the southern Taiwanese city of Kaohsiung (2007-2012). In 2012 he returned to Switzerland with his fiancee, whom he married in 2014 and then divorced in 2018. Along the way he started a career as a payroll tax compliance manager, before transitioning into coaching and teaching yoga, breathwork and meditation. He still works in the corporate world sometimes, keeping it real.
