Leslie Goetsch grew up in Tidewater Virginia, the setting of her first novel, Back Creek. She is a graduate of Duke University and received a masters degree from Johns Hopkins University. She teaches English at an independent school in Baltimore, where she has lived with her husband and two children for nearly thirty years. She is currently at work on her second book, a "coming-of-middle-age" novel.
