Dr. Mario Kossmann is an experienced Systems Engineer and certified Project Manager in the aerospace industry. A former naval officer with the German and French navies, he was awarded an MEng in Aerospace Technology from the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich (Germany), an MBA from the University of Warwick (UK), and a Ph.D. in Systems & Software Engineering from the University of the West of England. Furthermore, Mario studied Astrophysics at the Australian National University (XSeries Program). He is the author of books and book chapters, as well as over 40 research publications in the fields of Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and Project Management. Mario has been involved in the teaching and supervision of students of Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering and Mechanical Engineering – at Bachelor, Master, and Ph.D. level. Mario is an INCOSE (International Council on Systems Engineering) certified ‘Expert Systems Engineering Professional’ (ESEP). Passionate about deep space exploration, Mario has been leading research activities for a number of years on the quest to find extra-terrestrial life on Enceladus in the Saturnian planetary system.
