Marisa Labozzetta is the author of three novels and three collections of short stories. Kirkus called AT THE COPA, "a funny, finely wrought collection of short stories that stirs up the emotional currents beneath seemingly placid lives of middle-aged characters in the old age of youth." It was a John Gardner Fiction Award finalist (2009) and nominated for a Pushcart Prize. Her novel, SOMETIMES IT SNOWS IN AMERICA, inspired by the true story of a Somali woman's life in Africa and the United States, was an Eric Hoffer Award Finalist in 2013. And the novel, A DAY IN JUNE, was shortlisted for the Eric Hoffer Grand Prize Award in 2020, and received the American Fiction Book Award 2019, and Best Fiction Book Award 2019. Labozzetta's latest collection of short stories, MEN WHO WALK IN DREAMS, (release date Oct, 1, 2024 by Guernica Editions) includes the New Millennium Fiction Award Finalist, "The Woman Who Drew on Walls."
