NH Paxton, a name, a dream, and a passion. Writing is challenging. It takes effort, concentrated will, and some level of multiple different skills. Mostly, though, it takes perseverance, and willingness to fail repeatedly before making a true and note-worthy accomplishment. When I started writing, I was only 10 years old. It was ridiculous stuff, absolutely stupid. If you were to read it today, you would chuckle at the horror that I inflicted upon my family. Today, a couple decades later, I am writing professionally, but there's a story behind it, like all good work. I had always wanted to write professionally, but everything always seemed out of reach. Big publishing houses were so intimidating, and the idea of having someone professionally critique my soul's desires caused me a great deal of anxiety. So I wrote short stories, published them on Deviant Art for years, hid my craft and chose not to do anything more. There are always worlds floating about in an author's head, constantly changing and shifting, evolving before their eyes, never quite the same. Mercurial. But those worlds are begging to be released, and so I was given an opportunity to put that world into place. Being given a chance to write in an Anthology, which you will find here on my author page, was my first step to becoming a writer, truly. It invigorated me and allowed me to show what I was worth. That I had entire worlds and universes built inside my brain, and that I was reasonably good at putting words on paper. Today, I am word-smithing, creating entire universes, developing new and interesting characters and economies, providing a unique take on magic and society, and I love to do it. Every good story has to start somewhere, and I'm living proof that it can happen to anyone. So, will you write? If you write a book, who will read it? If you don't write that book, there won't be anything for those people to read.
