Nima was born in Iran at the start of the Iranian revolution. His family migrated to Germany soon thereafter in order to try and live a more normal life. Soon after that, they moved to the U.S. in order to be closer to other family members who had also fled the war. He attended music school and studied guitar performance before gravitating toward acting in his mid-thirties. 'Ella & The Snowflake' was conceived for his niece, and his follow up ('Ava's Horse) is in the works.
