I mainline coffee and chocolate, worry about the width of my hips, and peruse too many cookbooks. I suspect I wouldn't fret about one if I didn't indulge in the other. I'm also an avid mountain climber, photographer, piano player, karaoke singer, shoe hoarder, seamstress, and clothing designer. I do my best writing near Scottish lochs, mountain passes, campfires, and at home in Atlanta, Georgia at my massive roll-top desk. I love to play devil's advocate, transporting readers to places where uncommon heroes have good and bad flaws, the girls are full of spunk, the landscape is magical, and the world is alive with possibilities! I'm always interested in hearing feedback. Reviews, comments, and questions are most welcome. Thanks in advance for your time and consideration. Happy reading. Review by Maxine Paddington/ New World Publishers This review is from Luminary (Luminary Saga Book 1) (Kindle Edition) What a totally entertaining debut! Luminary is that rare story that combines suspense, young love, and soul mates with an awesome twist on the world of the Supernatural. The author actually creates a parallel universe that both young adults and adults will enjoy. I thought I knew how it would end, but I was wrong, I loved that! After I read the last page... I had to buy the next book! Keep 'em coming. I'm game. Luminary is an engaging read, August 8, 2015 By Satrina Price/ High Reaches Book Review This review is from: Luminary (Luminary Saga Book 1) (Kindle Edition) I usually am dubious of first time authors but it was free, I figured why not. The premise is straight forward, this girl Emily needs to have a new soulmate fashioned by this supernatural fairy god father type. His sidekick is this smart mouthed candelabra, yes I thought that might be childish too. But she has an attitude and does magic, and is not cartoony, which I enjoyed. It took a while to understand the main character's motivation. But then I got it. There are flash backs to a war that I don't think really happened, which is the set up for another character. Not sure if he is a good guy or not. I suspect that it part of the author's way of building suspense. I found the story engaging and would recommended. There is nothing too scary or too mature for adults or older teenagers.
