Patrick Howard writes about contemporary issues through the lens of ordinary folks finding their way. His observations are clear and sometimes biting, but with a decided bent toward humor, optimism, and redemption. Throughout his career as an academic physician and associate dean at a large university hospital, he’s cared for countless emergency room patients and mentored young learners toward academic success. While focusing on scientific and academic writing, he always looked forward to creative writing full time after retirement from medicine. Growing up in Hollywood, California, Patrick was a child actor, graduated from UCLA, taught college-level physiology, and eventually went on to medical school. He lives and works in the Pacific Northwest with his wife, Carrie.
