Paula Andres, now in her senior years, has always had a passion for writing. In addition, she has a distinct love of animals and great empathy for them. While trying to get close to the animals that crossed her path, Paula learned many lessons from them and about them. Wanting to enlighten some of her fellow animal lovers in what she learned, she started a series of books called her "Critter Calamities" based on true-life adventures with her furry and feathered friends. The first in the series, based on an event during her travels to Greece, is "Penny and Maria The Donkey's Journey To The Temple Of Athena, A Dream Come True". Raised in an Eastern Orthodox religion still the basis of her beliefs, Paula also has a fascination with astrology and metaphysics and has studied them for most of her adult life. These studies helped her make sense of the rituals in the church. Because of her passion for these subjects, she wrote a short introductory book to astrology called "Astrology - Life's Clock, Chart Basics Defined: Planets, Signs and Houses" and most recently, "Angels & Spirit Guides: Spiritual Companions Communicate Your Life's True Purpose & Provide Positive Action Steps to Fulfill Your Destiny". Ms. Andres holds a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Michigan State University, East Lansing, Michigan. In college, she volunteered to tutor young children in their reading skills. Later, she wrote a twice-weekly newspaper column for The Oakland Press in Pontiac, Michigan, combining her social work and astrology knowledge to produce an astrological advice column. In addition to the creative interests in her life, Paula worked in law, medicine, real estate, and antiques.
