Porter Braswell graduated from The Lawrenceville School in 2007 and from Yale University in 2011. He was a three-year starting point guard on the Yale men's varsity basketball team and received the senior leadership award during his final season. Porter was awarded the prestigious Richter Fellowship from Yale University during his sophomore year, which is awarded for independent study and research. After interning at Morgan Stanley during his junior and senior years of high school, he went on to intern at Goldman Sachs for all three summers during college. After graduating, he started his career on the foreign exchange sales desk at Goldman Sachs covering hedge funds and asset managers. While at Goldman Sachs, Porter wrote "Yes, You Can - The Secrets Revealed for How to Get into and Succeed at America's Top Universities and Colleges" after years of mentoring students. He wanted to share all the tips he learned along his journey in the hopes of not only helping the next generation of high school students, but also their parents. Porter left Goldman Sachs in July of 2014 to launch Jopwell.com, an online platform that helps companies connect and communicate with minority candidates for internships, entry-level positions, and experienced hiring. In addition to being an author and entrepreneur, Porter has a passion for traveling and has visited over twenty-five countries and six out of the seven continents. He currently lives and works in New York City.
