I had an unusual childhood. My three brothers, dad and I climbed all of Colorado’s peaks over 14,000 feet in elevation by the time I was twelve years old. Our dad had a severely injured right arm and hand due to an accident when he was not yet four years old. I guess he was disabled but we never thought of him that way. He just had to do things differently. As a result, I grew up thinking anything is possible. I retired early to help dad finish writing “The Bark of the Cony, Not If But How, a Philosophy of life.” A Cony is a small rabbit-like mammal that lives in the mountains above the elevation where trees stop growing. The book is a non-fiction account about dad’s childhood and formative experiences as well as our family’s adventures climbing mountains together when we were kids. I met my wife, Terrilynn Moore, in Junior High School. We reconnected at our Forty-Fifth High School Reunion and began talking. She is an artist and story-teller and has held a variety of interesting jobs. While we were dating, I learned she had started but not finished writing a novel about magic and a dragon. We began collaborating and have completed the book, “Starla.”
