The first adult author with whom RW Peake developed a long-term relationship was Louis L'Amour, whose body of work shaped RW's life philosophy. After retiring from the Marines, RW proceeded to earn a BA in History from the Honors College at the University of Houston. Although RW wrote a novel as a kid, he didn't publish his first one until age 52, the First Edition of Marching With Caesar-Conquest of Gaul in early 2012. In addition to his career as a Marine, and before the tech bubble burst in 2000, he was a paper millionaire in the software industry. He's now on his fifth, and final, career. Along with his main series, Marching With Caesar series, now up to Volume XVIII, with Volume XIX coming this spring, R.W. has recently completed what is now the eight book alternate history series, Caesar Ascending, which supposes a world where Julius Caesar heeds Plutarch's Seer to "Beware the Ides of March". Initially following the historical record with Caesar invading Parthia, the series covers a ten year period, culminating with Caesar, and the characters from the original MWC series, reaching the end of the known world, the fabled Islands of Wa, known today as Japan. In 2020, he released Volume I of The Titus Chronicles, featuring a young Anglo-Saxon farmer's son named Titus of Cissanbyrig, who is completely unaware that his prodigious size and strength is an inherent trait of the line that began with Titus Pullus almost a thousand years earlier, in Hispania. Like his predecessor, Titus knows that life on a farm will never be enough, and he sneaks away from the farm and his abusive father to join the Saxon King Alfred when he faces the Danish King Guthrum at the Battle of Edington in 878, setting young Titus down the same path, and towards the same destiny as his namesake. A native Houstonian, RW relocated to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington, where he lives with his yellow Lab Titus, named for the main character of his Marching With Caesar series.
