Renate Hardt, daughter of the actor Hans-Hardt-Hardtloff, was born in Potsdam in 1966 as the youngest of four children. When the Berlin Wall fell, the author decided to go to the West. She has lived and worked in Lower Saxony since 1994. Renate Hardt made her first serious attempts as an author in 1998. The Knabe Verlag Weimar discovered her talent in February 2007 and signed the author under contract. In 2007 she was able to establish herself as a children's book author with her stories from the Wuddelwald and the funny adventures of the Wuddelbuck children Knöpfchen and Dröselchen. Four iconic HörMal books, read by radio presenter Imme Tröger (MDR Saxony), have since taken numerous children's hearts by storm. The fantasy trilogy Termonia followed. The author has been publishing under the pseudonym Rena Hardt Hardtloff since the beginning of 2022, and she also writes for adults.
