After receiving a medical discharge from the military in 2000, Robert E. Schubert attempted to reenlist many times and ultimately joined the Missouri National Guard in 2008. He then served his country for eight years proudly and honorably. Schubert never imagined himself writing books—he struggled his entire life to even read. He spent most of his school years in learning disability classes. This was a setback for him, which only led to a crippling fear of reading later in life. It wasn’t until he was thirty-five years old when he made the life-altering decision to push his self to face his fear head on. Schubert often tells people when asked, “I started writing just to prove that I can read.” Schubert went on to receive his BA in history from Columbia College and now published his third book in the Eternal Vigilance series and first book of his science fiction series "Solar Warden". Currently Schubert is working on the next book to each of his series and creating beautiful, edged weapons as a Bladesmith at his shop Ironhead Forge.
