Born in Havana, Cuba in 1953, Robert fled to the US with his father in 1960 as a political refugee. With a love for the sea, a lack of fear, and a need for adventure, shortly after returning from his tour of duty in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War, Robert Ramon became a delivery Captain, Moving boats from Miami, Florida to Cartagena, Colombia at a time when the Colombian drug cartels had established a stronghold in the Bahamas and all over the Caribbean, forming a bridge between Columbia and southern Florida for trafficking marijuana and cocaine.
