Robert V. Joseph was born in Oakland, California and raised in the East Bay section of the San Francisco Bay Area. He attended public schools in the Richmond Unified School District and graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in African and African American Studies with a minor in English. He has worked as a professional actor in Los Angeles in the theatre industry, the television industry, and the motion picture industry. He won praise in reviews of the Los Angeles Times and other publications for his work. He has also worked as a teacher in San Francisco. In connection with this work, he returned to school and graduated with a M.A. in Education from the University of California at Berkeley. Since "Words From The Spirit" was published, he has spoken to audiences across the United States. His work as a speaker has focused on personal development and spiritual connection. He was honored to have the book selected as a Global Book Award winner in both the Motivational Self-Help category and the Spiritual Self-Help category.
