Rosilee Barreto was raised in a small farming community with her four brothers and two sisters. Although her family cultivated many food crops and different animals, Rosilee enjoyed most spending time with their small herd of horses. When she wasn't outside working on the farm, she enjoyed reading books, even at a young age. Rosilee's first writing experience was to publish a short children's book for The Education Fair at her elementary school where she won first place. She continued submitting a short story every year through ninth grade, receiving different awards along the way. Just before her senior year of high school, Rosilee met a published author named Dean Hughes on a cruise ship. When she asked Mr. Hughes how she herself could become a best-selling author, he simply said, "Always keep writing." He then explained that his first few books didn't do that well in the market. Instead of being discouraged, he just kept writing. As he practiced, he got better and better at writing until he finally started producing best-selling books. His words planted a strong desire in Rosilee to one day become a published author of multiple books. Shortly after college, Rosilee left for an 18-month service mission for her church. There she learned many things, including the Spanish language. After returning from her mission, she moved to Seattle, Washington, where she met her future husband. They married shortly after and continue to live and raise their children in Seattle. Productive Toilet Time is Rosilee's first published book.
