I was born in Ipirá, Bahia, in the northeast of Brazil and grew up in Recife, Pernambuco, which is part of the same region. I am a copywriter and poet. As a copywriter, I have worked for major advertising agencies in Brazil and Portugal. As a poet, I have self-published collections of poetry since 1985. In 2007 I have a poem awarded at the International Literature Festival Fliporto and some of my poems have appeared in magazines as well as being mentioned on the Brazilian television. “Virtual”, my fifth book, brings together poems that use elements taken from the digital language to address universal themes, as well as my relationship with London, where I have lived since 2006, and the conflicts between my mother tongue and my adopted language, English. I and my English wife, Susan Ferreira, are the founders of Canallondres.tv which we manage.
