Violet is an Air Force, Air National Guard, and Federal Civil Service veteran. She belongs to the American Legion and the American Legion Riders. She lives with her husband in Rincon, Georgia, in the Low Country. Because the abuse began at such a young age, Violet has lived her whole life with the shame and guilt of her father's incestuous and sexually abusive behavior towards her. It affected her personally in every aspect of her life, not only hers but also that of her siblings. This deprived her of her natural love and safe childhood. She bravely reported her father at the age of fourteen. Violet hopes that by writing this book, she can give others the courage to leave the abuse. Vi has struggled with this issue for many years, wanting to write this book to help others and let them know that they are not alone. Most individuals are afraid to reach out and speak out about this topic. If someone reaches out to you believe them, listen with respect and compassion. Violet hopes to inspire individuals to find ways to report and overcome the abuse.
