Resumen del Editor

The Second Chance
Tristan Merritt

Things can certainly be interesting when you are rather newly married and realize there are things about yourself you probably should have told your spouse before circumstances forced you to.
For example, Ellery Carson probably should have told her husband of three months a little more than that she was somewhat of a problem child in her younger days. Because her husband Mike was taken by surprise when she tells him she needs an attorney because a newly dismissed secretary from her high school was found to have taken bribes from students to alter grades on their transcripts.

It just happened to be revealed that one of the students was Ellery. And now Ellery is facing the disqualification of the high school diploma she received seven years earlier, unless she agrees to go to summer school to make up those two classes.

Fine!

But the revealed history of a more interesting nature, was that during the meeting between Ellery and Mike, Ellery’s attorney and the school principal and two members of the school board to finalize the agreement, Mike and the attorney found themselves confused when the principal began to warn Ellery that the type of behavior she displayed in her high school days would not be tolerated as she attended summer school.

Then it became extremely fascinating when he warned Ellery that, 25 years of age or not, if she misbehaved during her summer session, he would be quite ready and willing to make use of the paddle on her as he had done several times in her senior year.

Adding to the intriguing situation was that the principal, Jim Sylvester, was a friend of Mike’s who often played handball with him.

Again, her husband and attorney sat there with incredulous (even amused) looks on their faces until the meeting was ended, the agreement reached and it was brought to a conclusion.

And now, it was time for Ellery and Mike to go home and have an interesting discussion.

That was when Mike was treated to one of the most intriguing conversations with Ellery he could ask for: it was when a tearful Ellery revealed that she had kept something from him in addition to her bribery event.
It seems that Ellery was not just the subject of some bad luck in her senior year that resulted in her in her getting several very substantial bottom warmings from principal Jim Livingston.

Ellery had come to realize that she was quite excited and entertained by being paddled, and had even seen to it that she accidentally on purpose got caught breaching enough school rules as to end up leaving the office on more than one occasion with a red and sore bottom.

Mike is hopelessly in love with the enchanting Ellery, and is quickly swept up in helping her to not only be open about her previously hidden desires, but in taking a very active role in seeing to it that she gets to enjoy what floats her boat.
