Historia
Eve Hardaway, newly single mother of one, is on a trip she’s long dreamed of - a rafting and hiking tour through the jungles and mountains of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico. Eve wanders off the trail, to a house in the distance with a menacing man in the yard beyond it, throwing machetes at a human-shaped target. Disturbed by the sight, Eve moves quickly and quietly back to her group, taking care to avoid being seen. As she creeps along, she finds a broken digital camera, marked with the name Teresa Hamilton.

the first Gregg Hurwitz book that i've been disappointed with. I couldn't even get thru it. So slow and just really never grabbed me.

A good summer listen
Revisado: 05-07-16
Enjoyed the main characters and this was an easy listen. Kept me interested though I times I thought "wow, she's really being dumb," but that's of course because I knew what was going on for the other guy. Good listen or read when you don't want to have to think too much.

Didn't see that ending coming!
Revisado: 05-07-16
Easy to listen to the story teller and know the different characters. It kept pulling you in with twists, but didn't provide all the details, so you just have to keep listening. The ending WAS a surprise! I LOVE Harlan Coben's books. I've read or listened to all of them.

Any additional comments?
Great listen! Reminded me very much of a Greg Hurwitz book. Lots of various emotions among the characters and you never really know when you were hearing the whole story. It just kept dribbling you a little bit at a time, couldn't stop listening!

Couldn't stop listening
Revisado: 09-28-15
Would you listen to That Summer again? Why?
No, I generally don't listen to audiobooks twice, unless years and years apart.
What did you like best about this story?
The merging of past and present.
What does Nicola Barber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
The accent.
Any additional comments?
I don't generally read/listen to historical fiction, but really loved this book as it flipped between 1849 and 2009. Anxiously wondering how the two were going to converge. I was glad I had a road trip so I could listen for hours at a time. This is the first book by this author I've read/listened to. I'll be sure to check out more by her.

Picked this up for $1.99 on Kindle and got the audio version for probably the same amount. Ended up listening to the audio version. The book writeup sounded good, but an unknown author, so never expecting alot. It was really enjoyable listen - loved Beth & Jack. Good mystery, characters I enjoyed, and a little bit of romance.

I'm partial to these books - love the stories and the narrator! The stories are predictable, and I usually have a sense of what twist is coming, but still love them!
