Wil Wheaton absolutely ruined this book for me

The story was good. But the book was irreparably marred by the abysmal performance from Wil Wheaton. Character voices had so little differential between them that it became difficult to follow sections of dialogue. The worst part was his female voices. Nearly every female voice was deeper than the main character and took on a 300 pound, angry, burly, biker vibe. I have listened to Wil Wheaton narration before, Bobiverse series is great, but he certainly fumbled this one. I will not listen to the rest of the series so long as he is narrating, just not worth it.

Loved the story, very unique, witty, and fun! My problem was with the narrator. Wil Wheaton made exactly ZERO distinction between the main character (Male) and the lead supporting character (female), which made conversations when both characters were present hard to follow. He also really struggled with accents! Sometimes they would be there, sometimes they wouldn't and sometimes they would just fall away or present themselves mid-sentence. Very hard to listen to from that perspective. If you can ignore that, then its a great book.

Meh... Story is full of plot flaws

I wanted to like this, but the story is full of plot flaws and things that simply don't make any sense. Why didn't he tell the police about the emails? What did he have to lose by doing that? Who or what organization does his mysterious benefactor work for and why did they chose him? Just not a well thought out story line.

this was described as a collection of short story, but it is not. rather, it is a collection of incomplete story fragments with complex, unexplained, unfinished plot lines.

the main character is really just a passenger in the story. not really a hero or even really an active influence on the overall story. Mediocre at best

Ray Porter's performance was outstanding!! He really brought to life all the characters and did a great job with all voices. The story was another great from Andy Weir!

narrator nearly killed the book

good book. the problem is the narrator. He fails miserably to differentiate voices of characters and during non-dialogue sections he whumbles (whisper mumbles) making it hard to hear
