I wanted to love this..
Revisado: 01-04-25
I love Liane Moriarty and have read dozens of her books but unfortunately this one didn’t come together for me in the way her others have. I found the “death ladies” story uninteresting, long winded and unnecessary. I wish she had gone more into the other characters stories. Took me a while but I finally got through it, I kept thinking maybe it’ll all be worth it in the end but unfortunately it just didn’t tie together in the satisfying way Moriartys books usually do.

Historia
Bestselling mystery writer Lucy Harper's talent for invention has given her fame, fortune, and an army of adoring readers. It has also saddled her with dependents, namely her fawning husband Dan. When Dan suddenly goes missing, his disappearance evokes dark memories that take Lucy back more than thirty years—to the day her brother vanished without a trace. That's when Lucy began conjuring stories. The police investigation revealed few confirmed details, so she created tales to fill in the gaps, to explain what happened that day her brother disappeared—and Lucy was the only witness.

Good, but main character is borderline insufferable
Revisado: 04-25-23
Good story, kept me guessing till the end. I almost gave up on the book halfway because I found Lucy to be annoying. Although I know she has trauma, for being a crime writer, Lucy really handled speaking to the police and the whole crime terribly and I found it infuriating to the point I didn’t care what happened to her anymore. Luckily the plot was good enough to keep me listening, and the twist was worth it in the end!

Every character is unlikeable
Revisado: 03-23-23
Every character is the book is one dimensional, boring and unlikeable. Twist was okay, but it was hard to care about the outcome because I didn’t feel any sort of attachment to any of the characters. Also wasn’t a fan of the narrator.

Historia
When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn't think it's love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Couldn’t finish the book
Revisado: 02-10-22
Found the entire story predicable and monotonous. Most of the book is just narration of the main characters thoughts, and when they do have a conversation the dialogue feels forced and unnatural. I would skip this one!

Very slow with unsatisfactory ending
Revisado: 10-07-20
The first half of the book was insanely slow with boring and annoying main characters. While most of the second half did start to pick up, the twist at the end was unrealistic and so far fetched I just had to roll my eyes at it. I really wanted to like this book, but I’d skip it if I were you!

Not worth a listen
Revisado: 10-11-18
To all the boys I loved before is a wonderfully cute story of high school romance. However, it did not need to be a trilogy. Always and forever, Lara Jean falls flat. Lara Jean seems to have no character development, and seems to just react to her surroundings instead of actually having an opinion. All 3 books mirror each other, with one big source of conflict (Gen, Gen, College) causing Lara Jean stress that leads her to break up with Peter, only to beg for him back a few days later.
The poor kid's been broken up with 3 times by the time the trilogy is over. At least in this book she doesn't kiss someone else (Josh, John), instead she has an affair with UNC.
The first book is a great listen, but I'd skip the second two.

You know that feeling you get when you become immersed in a audiobook after just listening a few minutes? That’s how I felt with this book. I instantly felt transported into the world and didn’t look back. The narrator for this book is absolutely fantastic as he plays the character of Parzaval.
