Don't Bother
Revisado: 09-05-20
This is a badly written book and I am completely puzzled by the positive reviews. My only guess is that it was approved and passed around several church book clubs for its Christian theme. The poor writing and story are simply not worth your time.
If you are interested in female heroes of WWII and want an excellent read then I would suggest “Nancy Wake” by Peter FitzSimons

Wanted: Volunteers for Project Delta. Will guarantee you a medal. A body bag. Or both. With this call to arms, Charlie Beckwith revolutionized American armed combat. Beckwith's acclaimed memoir tells the story of Delta Force as only its maverick creator could tell it - from the bloody baptism of Vietnam to the top-secret training grounds of North Carolina to political battles in the upper levels of the Pentagon itself. This is the heart-pounding, first-person insider's view of the missions that made Delta Force legendary.

Read at 1.25 speed
Revisado: 03-25-16
Reading at 1.25 speed made the narration much better. The narrator speaks unusually slow and I almost couldn't take it. Once I sped up the narration it became a much more enjoyable read.

Historia
From one of our finest military historians comes a monumental work that shows us at once the truly global reach of World War II and its deeply personal consequences. Remarkably informed and wide-ranging, Inferno is both elegantly written and cogently argued. Above all, it is a new and essential understanding of one of the greatest and bloodiest events of the 20th century.

The Single Best Book on WWII?
Revisado: 10-14-15
Inferno by Max Hastings is a true masterpiece. It is both the war told from 30,000 feet and the war told from those on the ground. WWII is such a vast subject, perceived in so many ways by so many people that it is not possible to condense the event into a single volume. But, if you had to pick a single book from the thousands, this could be the one.
I would recommend this book as mandatory reading, not just to those interested in the war, but to everyone. Simply put, this is one book I would not want to have left unread. I suggest that it goes on the top of your list.

General George S. Patton, Jr., died under mysterious circumstances in the months following the end of World War II. For almost 70 years, there has been suspicion that his death was not an accident - and may very well have been an act of assassination. Killing Patton will take listeners inside the final year of the war and recount the events surrounding Patton's tragic demise, naming names of the many powerful individuals who wanted him silenced.

Written for a grade school level reader
Revisado: 08-14-15
If you are half illiterate then perhaps this account is for you. Detailing the many flaws of this book is simply a waste of time. In a nutshell, this the equivalent of a comic book on WWII minus the illustrations. Do yourself a favor and read Max Hastings, William Shirer, Ben Macintyre or any of the excellent authors who have done the topic of WWII justice.

Historia
Ten years ago, an FBI investigation was about to expose a scandal in the art world that would have been front-page news in New York and London. After a trail of fake paintings of astonishing quality led federal agents to art dealers, experts, and major auction houses, the investigation inexplicably ended, despite an abundance of evidence. The case was closed and the FBI file was marked “exempt from public disclosure”. Now that the statute of limitations on these crimes has expired and the case appears hermetically sealed shut by the FBI, this audiobook, Caveat Emptor, is that artist, Ken Perenyi’s, confession.
