Downright silly.

I like this series quite a lot, and of course I have some complaints as well. So, for future potential readers, here's the gist of it all.

The ovarall story is very silly, and sometimes it can be quite funny - I've chuckled a good number of times theougbout all 3 books so far. This is sadly tempered pretty severely by the main character, Lucias', all-encompasing stupidity. Thats really the main complaint I have, that the main character is truly, incomparably ignorant & stupid.

She is a loveable character, but outside of getting stronger as the story progresses, she doesn't show any character growth - which saddens me quite a bit. I would love it if she became more aware, learned more about her "friends", and started realizing what she has been doing to the world(s). gradually, of course. I genuinely feel bad for everyone around her... and I've come to love them all more than the main character.

That being said, that is also balanced with other characters developments. Ilya, Softie, Durondel(?) and Puppers are all great characters and every time the story was told from their points of view, I really enjoyed it. There were even some fun minor characters as well.

I also like that the ending of this book was a very happy one for Softie & Lucia, but I won't spoil anything. It's even better that there is a promised sequel! I do look forward to it, and I really hope Lucia can show some growth in it.

I suggest anyone standing on the edge reads the series. It's really enjoyable.

I love these books so much!!

This is one of my new favorite book series, the author and narrator do such a good job and bringing the characters to life. Just sit back and listen to the strongest squirrel in the universe kick some butt and take all of the stuff.

Awesome addition

I was real worried by how the second book turned out to be a redo of the first. But it was necessary to set things up for this third one. This book was great. Just as unique and funny as the first time I read the first book in the series. Can't wait to see where the story goes from here.

love the progression and new characters. narration done beautifully. if you liked the previous 2 books then youll enjoy this one aswell. csnt wait for the next one.

Aggravating! Sorta.

I stumbled into the series last year, and I’ve enjoyed the majority of it. However, I have an issue; it’s the damn squirrel, ugh! I felt the character has doubled down on stupidity. It’s almost hard to believe at times, but I supposed if your listeners/readers are showing an emotional response, it means the characters are well written.

Absolutely loved it

I absolutely loved how this is a fantasy book but also has a bunch of comedy in it. This author continues to surprise you throughout the entire book even if you read the other works of this author. This book is a refreshing change from most of the other fantasy books I listen to. I would recommend this to anyone that likes fantasy and anyone that likes to laugh at ridiculous situations and characters that are real and flawed

Highly enjoyable sequel

A good sequel, as fun a read(listen) as the books before.
And again, the narrator Mare Trevathan is excellent.

Laughed so hard tears were coming out of my eyes!

I find this series embarrassingly funny. Not only is it embarrassing that I find it as funny as I do, but the fact that I can't keep from laughing out loud while listening to it in public adds a whole other layer. This book, much like the first two, is quite hilarious, though I'd say slightly less so only because the character and world development are much more significant and the overall story is much more compelling. When this book came out, I decided to binge the 2nd book then shifted straight to this one, and I'd say for 2020, that experience is probably the highlight of my year so far. The only thing I regret is starting on the 2nd book instead of the 1st because 32 hours simply wasn't enough.

As with the previous two books, Mare Trevethan really makes the characters come alive, and I swear I'd miss half of the best parts if it weren't for her.

I can't wait for the 4th book to come out! I have an audible library of more than 2000 sci-fi/fantasy books, and I seriously think this might be my favorite series, and I was overjoyed when I saw that this one had come to audible.
