Great mind meld

A young woman, trying to get over PTSD after being kidnapped and abused, when suddenly she is thrust back in the spotlight. Has she lost her mind and gone to the dark side?

Bad narration

The female narrator was very monotone, not good at all. The story itself was predictable and eventually boring. I’m giving the overall a third star because I know Burton can do better than this

Outstanding

I loved this book. Definitely had the feel of MB’s older suspense novels. There is an ominous feel thru out and the past recall can be difficult to hear at times. Character development is amazing. I felt like I knew all, the good, bad, significant and background. It will keep you guessing, good resolution at the end plus a MB treasure to finish. So very much enjoyed listening to this new release.

Narration was excellent. Each character had their own distinctive voice. The more difficult parts were conveyed so well, with full emotional range to express the moments!

Good storyline, but out of date

The story overall was fine, but I was immediately irritated by the police detective who continued to interrogate the girl even after she asked for a lawyer. It’s so sloppy and not researched. I also wonder if the narrator is drunk or just terrible. Monotone dialogue & every character has a slur! So annoying!! It was all I could do to finish it!

Not her best

I’ve read almost everything MB has written. This is good, but not great. The ending redeemed it a bit. The one thing that kept bugging me was why Tiffany was so freaked out by something that ALMOST happened to her. It’s like it derailed her life and it was probably 2 minutes of it and nothing ultimately happened to her. Just seemed a bit over the top to me.

Ugh. Frustrated

Narration was odd and uncomfortable at times. Story was awesome until the end. HATED the very very end. Like why end it like that? Left me wanting more just so justice could work itself out. Not my favorite
