Resumen del Editor

FOR MILLIONS OF YEARS, SATURN HID AN ALIEN SECRET. IN 2065, HUMANITY WILL FIND IT.

Carpenter Lowell is a disgraced Marine assigned to a remote US research station on Saturn's moon Enceladus, where scientists have made an extraordinary discovery in the ocean below. A special forces team, led by Lowell’s murderous former commanding officer, shows up to investigate. Almost immediately, everything begins to unravel. Something beneath the surface has been activated.

Soon every space force on Earth — American, Chinese, Russian, and more — is converging on the tiny moon, ready to start a war. But when a young archeologist with a knack for dead languages makes an amazing discovery of his own, Lowell realizes the stakes are higher than anyone could’ve imagined. He soon has no choice but to disobey orders and fight soldiers he helped train as he races to stop an unimaginable chain reaction that threatens the entire solar system. The countdown has begun...

Artifact, the first book in the Saturn's Legacy series, is a sci-fi thriller full of mystery, intrigue, and epic action from the depths of the ocean to the edge of outer space.

Gripping Sci-Fi Thriller

I was entertained by book one of the "Saturn's Legacy" series. This was one of those stories that gripped my attention from the very beginning until the end. It was difficult for me to shut off the audiobook to go to sleep, and I couldn't wait to get it started again, once I had some free time. There was plenty of action. The political machinations kept my interest. The characters, Carpenter Lowell and the young archeologist Peter Chang, were fun. I liked their character arcs and their interactions as the story progressed. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. Paul Heitsch's narration was extraordinary, and his performance added to my enjoyment of the story. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review which included my opinions.

REALLY Satisfying

The good guys win, justice is served, believable storytelling (as long as you like science fiction) and not a struggle to listen to. I think it’s well worth listening to or reading.

Sci-fi

I’m so glad to have found Mr. James. Takes me back to when I first discovered science fiction.

A bit of a slow start..

...but once all the "caracter introductions" have completed; the story picks up.
It's still a "slow tempo book," but as a reader/listener , you'll appreciate the "thuroghness" of the writers descriptions and sense of details.

It starts "heavy/chockingly , turns into a "buddy/action", and ends as a FULL SCI FY !

(You'll know what I mean, once you're at the end... lol ..)

I'm onto the second book now, because this is just TOO GOOD

Jurassic Sushi

When I wake up, in the morning, and just lay there knowing I have to booty up my computer and start stroking those keys, I get scramble for the blanket cave and warmth of downy goodness. Then BING! I remember I have a story to listen to, Suddenly I am excited. My energy ticks up a few notches and I find myself sitting at the kitchen table listening to Artifact Jack! The books I really love give me this sense of baby fresh new day fresh haircut hope. With this read, I was left wondering what was actually happening in our solar system. Wondering, will we ever have Jurassic Sushi?

Not bad.

I enjoyed the story. Not my usual fare but it was good. Liked the characters. And the plot.

Cringeworthy characters and completely unrealistic

The story has tons of inconsistencies and many things that bothered me like how do we have this kind of tech less than 50 years from now but also they need human translators? The main protagonists are annoying and act childish, I was hoping they'd get caught and this torture could end.

The story had potential

The characters were immature and unrealistic. The idea that adults would spend years on their education or training and after emerging from that have the mentality of a 12 to 16 year old (bro she's hot, oh he's a nerd) is ridiculous. It was constantly laced throughout the story and pretty much ruined it for me. It's as though the author never witnessed mature interaction between adults and based characters upon a known peer group he couldn't see past or imagine. Dissappointing. The story had potential. The narration was grating but I believe the narrator was simply animating the childishness of the characters which the author wrote. Dude.
